Last Saturday night at the Tyndall Armory in downtown Indianapolis light heavyweight prospect Malcolm Jones once again made his presence felt here in the Midwest. Jones took on David Thomas of Evansville in a four round match on a card presented by 4 Champs Promotions. Jones who came in right at the light heavyweight limit looked to be in some of the best shape of his career.

The fit and trim Jones went right to work on Thomas landing thumping body shots while patiently walking his opponent down with the jab. In round two you could see although it was early in the fight the work Jones had put in was already paying off. In just over a minute into the second round Thomas folded to the pressure and power right hand of Malcolm. The fight was over just that fast as Jones secure his seventh win all coming by way of KO.

The lingering question seemed to be when and or who will step up next to give Jones a challenge. It seems obvious to me he is ready for the next jump but finding suitable foes remains an issue. For me I will just sit back and enjoy the body of work he is compiling. When the day comes for a bigger a challenge I will definitely be in the crowd taking in the action. If you missed this weekend’s 4 Champs card you missed out on a fun filled night of action and fun. Congrats to Jones on his win and we look forward to keeping an eye on his rise into the ranks.
