15541908_1319212061434109_5928590164799284105_nWelterweight brawler Lanardo Tyner has been on the shelf for quite a while starving for some fight action. For Tyner being patient is something he has had to learn as in this sport things sometimes go into freeze mode for a fighter. Despite not having a fight come his way Tyner has stayed sharp by sparring all over the country working in various fight camps.

Well on January 22, 2017 the animal will be let out of the cage as Tyner will be fighting in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan at the Masonic Temple on a card being presented by Salita Promotions. An opponent for the night has not been officially named yet but Tyner is primed and ready to put on a show for his family and friends as he is the main event of the night.

The bus will roll on from there as Lanardo will take his show on the road to Quebec , Canada on February 24, 2017 to face undefeated Custio Clayton. The bout will take place at the Centre Videotron on a card being presented by Yvon Michel’s GYM Promotions that will also feature Lucian Bute in a separate bout. Tyner and Clayton will duke it out for the WBA-NABA welterweight title. Looks like 2017 will be a good year for Tyner as far as fight action goes after being dormant for a spell.

I am an Indiana native who has been around the fight game in some capacity since the year 2000. Currently I wear many hats in this great game of boxing ranging from writing for two great publications(Chicago Boxing News, theRingside.biz) to various task concerning fighters and fight cards. I also hold a position with a new sanctioning body the UBF which has grown considerably since its inception a short time ago.
